Global Livestock, Meat and Poultry Competition:
Potential Impacts on North American Production and Trade

A strong animal agriculture production and processing industry is the cornerstone for domestic growth and expanded international trade in value added red meat and poultry products.  Extremely serious questions are being posed domestically and by competitor nations about the long-term competitive strength of the U.S. and Canadian Livestock, Meat and Poultry industries. Latin America continues to invest in farm land development, and extremely large Brazilian farms, for example, are among the largest and lowest cost grain and protein producers in the world.  Infrastructure development in Canada, Mexico and Latin America has been heavy and Canada has vaulted into the lead in several categories of meat exports.  The United States and Canada, and the one-trillion dollar plus food production and processing system is facing growing competition and the possible exodus of significant parts of its livestock, meat and poultry industries.  In response to a series of questions from clients, Informa Economics is organizing a broad economic study to focus on key issues and questions, assess the situation and outlook and design strategies for sustainable competitiveness.

In this regard, Informa Economics Inc. is pleased to provide you with a prospectus (below)  for an extremely important study entitled "Global Livestock, Meat and Poultry Competition: Potential Impacts on North American Production and Trade".  This study is designed to take a comprehensive look at where the U.S./Canada stands vis-à-vis other key livestock/poultry regions, particularly South America, with respect to its animal agriculture production, slaughtering, further processing, product development and product distribution.  Many of our clients have expressed concern that the U.S. is rapidly losing its competitive edge in the production and conversion of livestock and poultry into highly nutritious fresh meat and processed meat and poultry products.   What are the facts and what does it mean for your organization?  What should be your strategies and how can you implement?

Please take a moment to examine the prospectus below, as we think you will find the proposed study of significant interest and lasting strategic value.  Please contact us directly if you are interested in this study by filling out the enrollment information form and submitting it electronically or returning it to us via fax 901.766.4471.
